My name is Jo

I’ve always loved the creativity and the rewarding results

that come from being the caretaker of a productive garden.
I first developed an interest in plants in my 20s, and as

the years passed, my knowledge grew. With some experience
in the nursery trade, I also completed a Cert II in Horticulture during 2012.

I’ve had the pleasure of creating and nurturing a few of my own gardens over the past 3 decades, both in cool climate and

sub-tropical zones. I am a lover of bees and try to use organic garden practices wherever possible to protect these wonderful and important garden friends and the other beneficial insects and birdlife.  

With an interest in heritage plants, working at Diggers Seeds for a stint in the despatch department expanded my knowledge

and opened my mind to many wonderful old-world varieties which, thanks to organisations like this, would otherwise have been lost in time. More recently I had the thrill of visiting some amazing gardens in London, including Kew Gardens, and others located in the Cotswolds, all breathtakingly beautiful. I’m looking forward to my next opportunity to see more of the most stunning gardens in the world.
